The red wine Pianrosso Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Clear, bright garnet red. Opens with notes of tobacco and ripe plum, liquorice in the background. Gripping, firm tannin on the palate spreads richly, firm and substantial, shows a lot of ripe fruit notes, slightly malty on the finish, but still full drive and long finish.
