The red wine Monfortino Barolo Riserva DOCG, vintage 1961 from the winery Conterno Giacomo has been rated in 2011 with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Barolo in Italy.
Medium carmine garnet colour, broad ochre rim. Delicate nuances of orange and mandarin zest on the nose, sweet spices, and a fine touch of dried plum. Full-bodied, very rich in finesse, still fresh, powerful texture, silky, vivid tannins, a Barolo of convincing finesse, very good length, a perfect mature Piedmontese of the extra class.
