The white wine Bad Kösen Saalhäuser Weißburgunder trocken, vintage 2021 from the winery Landesweingut Kloster Pforta has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Weißburgunder from the region Saale-Unstrut in Germany.
Very restrained on the nose when freshly opened, just a little pear and walnut shells. On the palate, the ageing in large wooden barrels is only noticeable through the increased density, plus the 2021 acidity with piquant lime notes. Very dry and clearly a wine for food.
