The red wine Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Riserva »L'Omaggio«, vintage 2018 from the winery Poliziano has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser, Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
The initially open nose combines chocolaty aromas with herbal savouriness, a hint of malt indicates some patina from the barrel ageing. The palate structure proves to be dense, full-bodied and powerful, with a large amount of mealy, mellow tannin dominating the mid-palate and the ripe, rather restrained acidity supporting the structure. The alcohol is well integrated at the upper edge of the harmony window, but is never isolated. The wine finishes savoury and with tactile mineral components. Power and finesse, very good certain ageing potential.
