Tasting Notes
A good core of colour with a hint of orange on the rim. Fresher in colour than the 1977. Initially very closed on the nose with a hint of sweet cherry, malt, resin, pine nut and touches of mint and thyme. Opens up a bit more after 15-30 minutes with eucalyptus, blood orange, dried tomato, date and some beeswax. On the palate, still textured and full bodied, almost chewy, but also juicy with ripe acidity, mineral, intense, harmonious and homogenous and very lively. Seems far from fully matured and remained intact and alive for the full duration of the tasting (about 45 minutes). Very good length.
