Tasting Notes
Flint and nettles give the subtle strawberry notes on the nose a real kick. How exciting! On the palate, spiciness, leanness, freshness and energy. This joyous wine comes across as lively, wiry, dry and quite informal.
More about the tasting12% alcohol by volume, fermented on the skins for four weeks. Matured for 18 months in 500-litre barrels. Delicate, slightly mature colour, brick red. Ethereal herbal notes, some yeast, red berries, smells almost like an Ahr Spätburgunder. Oily, powerful, viscous on the palate, then dry tannins with the typical Trollinger quantity, has polish and fullness, and all with an impression of lightness. Mineral background. Mild acidity, but everything is completely integrated. Homogeneous on the palate, spicy and salty finish.
