The red wine Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, vintage 2008 from the winery Salicutti has been rated in 2014 with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Brunello di Montalcino in Italy.
Brilliant, rich ruby with a slight garnet rim. Opens on the nose with mature aromas of tar and licorice, some fennel seed, then also rich plums, inviting. Taut, dense tannins, still very young, mineral, lots of dark berry fruit at the end, a few years of additional ripeness would certainly not hurt.
