Tasting Notes
Still amazingly rich dark ruby, with light garnet tones on the 'tongue'. Very clear and precise on the nose, with some tobacco, then lots of dark berry fruit, prunes and cassis, all feeling open and inviting. Present in the attack, with pithy, finely woven tannins which are slightly drying in the finish. Still plenty of fine ripe notes, it shows the years but is still very vivid.
More about the tastingInviting fresh heart cherries, delicate licorice, some cassis and citrus zest, fine tobacco wood spice, vanilla, notes of lemongrass. Sweet plum confit, some cinnamon, powerful tannins, delicate dried plum, nougat, fine spice on the finish, chocolate-cherry touch on the finish, good ageing potential.
