The red wine Le Cupole IGT, vintage 2000 from the winery Tenuta di Trinoro has been rated in 2003 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Tuscany in Italy.
A New World St. Emilion from south-east Tuscany? The excellent second wine from the young cult winery Trinoro puzzled many a taster. It is good anyway: strong carmine garnet, delicately brick-red, already mature, freshly harvested plums on the nose, sweet and juicy, an inviting bouquet. Southern spices, ripe sour cherries, concentrated on the palate, dense, some sugar residue, spicy tannin retention, higher alcohol, good length. A ripe Cabernet Franc, comparable in character to the best examples from Villany in Hungary.
