The red wine Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT, vintage 2015 from the winery Tormaresca has been rated in 2017 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Primitivo from the region Puglia in Italy.
Black berry with an iron-mineral undertone, light herbal spice. Powerful and broad, crumbly tannin, the alcohol is typically strong, but is sufficiently supported by extract. Not an extremely sweet and soft Primitivo - good structure, good fruity length.
More about the tastingDark, rich ruby with violet shimmer. Finely drawn, appealing nose with notes of roses and dark cherries, fine spice in the background. Smooth on the palate, shows lots of dark berry fruit, opens up with polished tannins, fine sweet melting, chocolate finish.
