Tasting Notes
Fully ripe dark fruit, coconut, vanilla and cooked fruit on the nose. Voluminous and substantial on the palate, a powerhouse of a wine, infused with firm and quality tannins. Pronounced flavours of elderberry, blackberry and black cherry, dense extract, vivid but sensitively incorporated wood. Those who like opulent, spicy notes will get their money's worth.
More about the tastingRoasted hazelnut, dark chocolate and some smoked bacon initially herald the new wood. Raspberry contributes pure fruit, but lags behind the toast. The extract sweetness at the start is followed by brisk tannins and plenty of warmth at the end.
More about the tastingSome brioche, sponge cake, fresh strawberries, sweet cherry. Soft base with a creamy woody underlay, crumbly tannin with only remnants of graininess, mild acidity, strong alcohol, appears emphatically soft and plump, almost sweetish on the finish with caramel aromas.
