The white wine 1999 Bernkastel Alte Badstube am Doctorberg Riesling Auslese, vintage 2004 from the winery Weingut Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler has been rated in 2019 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Moselle in Germany.
Golden terpenic spice on the nose, with hints of caramelisation and iodine. A fine botrytis spice is evident, but also fresh fruit notes - especially Williams pear. In the mouth it's creamy and silky, quite seamlessly round and molten. A mild acidity supports it all and makes for a ripe Auslese with velvet paws - complex, long, and very elegant.
