The red wine Mittelburgenland DAC Mitterberg Reserve, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingut Gager has been rated in 2011 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blaufränkisch from the region Central Burgenland in Austria.
Dark ruby garnet colour, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate watery rim. Very attractive dark berry confit, blackberries, a hint of mint, subtle hints of precious wood, very pure, light tobacco nuances with aeration. Full-bodied, tightly woven, dark berries, mineral and taut, well-integrated, vivid tannins that carry the wine, mineral nuances on the finish, still very youthful, great ageing potential.
