The white wine Südtirol Gewürztraminer Kolbenhof DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery J. Hofstätter has been rated in 2013 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Gewürztraminer from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Brilliant light golden yellow in colour. A very dense and memorable nose opens with pronounced notes of cloves and lemon balm, followed by a beguiling rose note, some mango and lychee. Expands powerfully on the palate with lots of ripe fruit generating impressive volume, but remains very gluggable thanks to fine mineral components. A very long finish ends on elegant spice.
