The red wine Südtirol Pinot Nero Barthenau Vigna S. Urbano DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery J. Hofstätter has been rated in 2015 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Clear, amazingly rich ruby in colour. The nose opens with finely drawn sour cherries, blackberries and cardamom - superbly balanced. The palate is extremely elegant and supple, unfolding with juicy berry fruit and finely meshed, dense tannin. A beautiful interplay of fruit and fine texture carries all the way to the long finish. .
