The white wine »Alte Reben« Iphofen Kalb Sylvaner Erste Lage trocken, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Johann Arnold has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grüner Sylvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
The aroma is archetypal Keuper: herbal-spicy, peppery-stony, plus the meadow blossom aromas of Silvaner. The palate opens quite sweetly, creating an almost Riesling like interplay; together with the mineral depth and the slender structure, the sweetness works well.
