The red wine »Carpe Diem« Spätburgunder trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Paul Schumacher has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Ahr in Germany.
Grapes from Ahrweiler. Wild cherry, sloe, red and black currant, rose hip, mallow. Also slate. Subtle use of wood. The palate begins supple and supported, then unfolds a buttery tannin before a fruit-driven juiciness takes hold. A fine tactile minerality pervades the palate right through to the finish. Pure elegance.
