The red wine Ruppertsberg Spätburgunder, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Reinhardt has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points.
Spicy nose, not too intense, dark fruit, ripe black cherry, raspberry and blackberry, fine balsamic savouriness, also a touch of vanilla in the background. Present and vivid on the palate with bright and well-integrated acidity, dry, zippy and punchy with nicely integrated fruit and a mineral underlay. A framework of supportive, grippy tannin, this is more Pinot Noir than Spätburgunder. Good length.
