The white wine »Orange« Sauvignon Blanc ***, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Stern has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Medium yellow in colour, not orange, with an exciting bouquet of rhubarb and some hops, caraway, some plum, anise, orange oil, wormwood, and subtle smoke. Relaxed on the palate but also has enough dynamism to keep the papillae sufficiently busy! Classy with ripe phenolics, subtle, finely chiselled acidity, finely spiced with some green walnut notes and a finish which shows good length.
