The white wine »RR Barrique« Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Volker Schäfer has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
With powerful aromas of smoke and coconut, the fruit (pear tart, ripe apricot and apple skin) is somewhat masked by the oak. Expressive on the palate, lots of savouriness and subtle fruit, powerful. The alcohol is well integrated and it is medium-bodied at the core. A wine that can stand up to stronger dishes.
