The white wine Mettenheim Schlossberg Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2024 from the winery Weingut Volker Schäfer has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
On the nose, subtle notes of wood, yeasty nuances, hints of flax, cornmeal and black pepper. The palate aims for a seamlessly round structure - and achieves this goal with lots of texture, very fine, chalky phenolics and ripe acidity. A very charming, yet also very complex style.
