The white wine Weißer Burgunder I, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut von Winning has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Weißburgunder from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Spicy, very high quality wood, plus floral notes, anise cookies and roasted almonds. The palate is quiet but rich in texture, silky phenolics and creamy but at no time unstructured background, beginning with a spicy finish that remains homogeneous in structure for a long time. A Burgundy style with considerable depth that will be a culinary delight in a few years time.
