ESC 2026 in Vienna: XXXLutz rents out furniture store as the world's most expensive Airbnb
In parallel with the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, a furniture store in Vienna will be converted into luxury accommodation. XXXLutz is offering its entire branch opposite the Stadthalle for rent at a price of 450,000 euros.
Vienna's hotels can expect to be particularly busy around the time of the Eurovision Song Contest in mid-May. Hotels and holiday apartments near the Stadthalle, where the song contest will take place, are particularly popular. The Vienna West branch of the Austrian furniture store XXLutz is only a few metres away from the Stadthalle and has therefore come up with a special offer: You can rent the entire furniture store as an Airbnb during the ESC. There are enough beds available.
From 11 to 17 May, the branch directly opposite the Stadthalle will become a large-scale temporary accommodation facility. For €450,000, guests will have access to around 18,000 square metres of living space. There is space for up to 380 people, and the offer is primarily intended for Song Contest delegations, production crews, and other large groups.
The dimensions are correspondingly large: There are 60 bedrooms, 190 double beds, over 200 sofas and 81 bathrooms. The concept is complemented by a 300-seat in-house restaurant and an underground car park with over 200 spaces.
The Stadthalle is in immediate proximity
'When Vienna becomes the Eurovision Song Contest stage, we wanted to create accommodation that is itself a stage,' says company spokesman Thomas Saliger. The combination of the venue's proximity and the building's size makes this offer unique.
The furniture store is only available as accommodation during this period and can be booked via Airbnb. The site will then return to regular operations.
