Arthotel Blaue Gans
Self Description
Since 1350, the Blaue Gans has been part of Salzburg's old town between Getreidegasse and the festival district. Today, it is a cozy art hotel with 34 individually designed rooms and suites, in which the historical substance remains deliberately visible. Contemporary architectural interventions set clear accents and blend in with the existing structures.
Stone, wood, leather, and linen characterize the rooms and develop a special depth over time. Over 300 works of contemporary art accompany guests throughout the hotel—from rooms to corridors to public areas—and are part of its architectural design.
Its location in the festival district anchors the Blaue Gans in the center of Salzburg's cultural life. The city can be easily explored on foot from here, while the inner courtyard and reading room offer retreat and tranquility from the urban pace.
The cuisine follows the concept of “Cucina Transalpina” and combines Alpine products with Mediterranean influences. The restaurant is rated 90 points by Falstaff.
