2026 is shaping up to be an exceptional year for Venice's luxury hotel scene. Following a series of high-profile openings and reopenings, the legendary Danieli will also make its long-awaited comeback on 26 August.

For Venice, 2026 is the year of landmark hotel revivals. Following the openings of the Orient Express Venezia and Airelles Palladio, as well as the reopening of the Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, the city is set to welcome another major highlight on 26 August: the legendary Danieli will reopen after more than three years of restoration as Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, ushering in a new era for one of the city's most iconic addresses.

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from St Mark's Square, the former 15th-century Palazzo Dandolo has long been regarded as one of Venice's most prestigious hotels.

A Storied Legacy

Since opening as a hotel in 1822, the Danieli has welcomed an illustrious roster of guests, including Charles Dickens, Charlie Chaplin, Coco Chanel, Madonna and George Clooney. Its unrivalled location, magnificent architecture and unmistakable Venetian character have made it a landmark of international luxury hospitality for more than two centuries.

The extensive redesign was led by renowned French interior architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, whose vision seamlessly blends the palace's historic grandeur with contemporary luxury. The restoration places a strong emphasis on Venetian craftsmanship, featuring textiles by the historic Rubelli weaving house, handcrafted Murano glass and elegant Carrara marble throughout the interiors. A refined palette of soft blues and greens, delicate blush tones, and warm gold and terracotta hues reflects the ever-changing light of the lagoon.

The hotel will reopen with 120 guest rooms and suites, while an additional 56 accommodations are scheduled for completion by 2027.

Dining and Wellness

The culinary offering has also been completely reimagined. At the rooftop Terrazza Danieli, guests can enjoy aperitifs and fine dining while taking in panoramic views over Venice's rooftops and canals. Executive Chef Adriano Rausa oversees the restaurant's culinary concept, while the historic Bar Dandolo remains the elegant destination for classic cocktails and the hotel's signature Danieli Martini.

Later in 2026, the hotel will complete its transformation with the opening of the Danieli Spa, an exclusive wellness sanctuary designed to complement this historic luxury destination.
