"Barrier-free" Street Food Restaurants in Cologne
Hummus for the advanced. The chickpea puree flavoured with olive oil and tahini is served here with a silky-smooth texture and outstanding combinations. Shakshuka is served on Saturdays from 12 noon to 5 pm, and a "hummus of the week" provides fun, enjoyment and excitement.
The Pizza-Napoletana-Pionier, which now has three branches in Cologne, celebrated its tenth anniversary last year. Classics such as "Hellboy", "Popeye Pie" and "Bufalina" are now also available as a trio of mini pizzas, as usual with a fluffy crust and the obligatory leopard print.
Cologne's cult burger joint on Bonner Straße still has a loyal fan base, even if the quality is now somewhat variable. Be sure to order the garlic fries with a burger of the week or one of the classic burgers. By the way: it's open on Sundays!
When one of Japan's largest ramen chains, with more than 250 branches worldwide, sets up shop in Cologne, you can look forward to at least rock-solid, authentic noodle soups. Gyoza and takoyaki taste even better. The ambience is a little sober: canteen flair.
Viet-style street food spot with individualistic décor and a cosy atmosphere. Bao buns, curries, noodle soups, summer rolls, salads and more are available with or without meat. The food is fresh, the service is friendly, the portions are a little small - it's best to order a little more.
