Every lunchtime, Caspar Plautz's team cooks up the best quality potatoes so well that a queue forms in front of the stall. There are different seasonal variations from "green sauce" to herring and pork belly.
Munich's most popular noodle maker: while you wait, you can watch the Chinese noodles being pulled by hand. Things are then very unpretentious inside. The pasta is tossed with tender beef or minced chicken in a tasty (spicy if desired) broth.
The USHI is relatively new, but has quickly developed into one of the best sushi spots at an upscale level. The experience factor has probably played a significant role in this. Head chef Shigeru Fujita likes to put together his menu on a daily basis.
The Munch Market in the temporary Fat Cat is home to the popular Fairfax Express. It stands for authentic American comfort food at its best: from classic smashburgers to fried mac and cheese balls. It's worth standing in line hungry here!
As a gastro bar, el Tato combines two things: authentic Latin American cuisine - from ceviche to tacos - and professional bar culture with top drinks. Reservations are only possible for groups of five or more, but later in the evening it can get crowded and the atmosphere turns into a party mood.
Sarah and Mete have created a little oasis with their stand at Viktualienmarkt. Sarah's excellent Turkish meze is available at a few bar tables on the terrace directly on the market, while Mete's curated selection of wines with a focus on Turkey and Germany can be taken home to drink.
Usagi is a classic - and a great mix of rustic pub and hip izakaya. The food from the open kitchen is always fresh and creatively presented. The drinks and wine selection are impressive. There is a "dirty ramen" special on Friday afternoons.
Celebrity chef Ali Güngörmüs runs a place for delicious meze right next to Gärtnerplatz - next to his cooking school. Traditional recipes are reinterpreted without losing any of their authenticity. Always fresh - and a lunch here tastes really fabulous. Highly recommended.
At the Asian-inspired Ahimsa, everything is vegan as a matter of principle. The dishes are so well executed that you could almost overlook this fact. Sushi, gyozas, rice noodle bowls and curries, for example with duck or pork belly, are delicious. But of course they are also available with tofu or vegetables.
You simply have to love BeirutBeirut - in every way. The fantastic food, the warm atmosphere and the social commitment! Here you eat real Lebanese food and it's best to try the "plate with everything" so as not to miss anything. Or a sandwich to go!
The absolute best lard noodles, Auszogenen, Krapfen or Rohrnudeln can be found at Café Frischhut. The pastries are usually still swimming in fat when you buy them from the small street vendor. The delicious pastries are also served warm in the in-house café.
Inconspicuous restaurant in a former bar in Maxvorstadt. Many guests travel here especially for the excellent Neapolitan pizza. Massimiliano and Francesco Calvello have been named one of the "50 Top Pizzerias in Europe" for their pizza art.
The Ciao Chang is a Bavarian pub in Asian style. Cross-over at its best, in a cool ambience with a good selection of wines and innovative dishes. On Saturdays, there are fried chicken burgers, tasty side dishes and sweets under the motto "Ois Umami". Kampai!
In contrast to other bowl stores, greens & grains attaches great importance to sustainability and regionality. You will look in vain for açai, goji and non-seasonal fruit here. The dishes are seasoned with oriental spices. Tip: Shakshuka roll.
Probably the best Vietnamese soups in Munich. In this small restaurant with an open kitchen (and no toilet!), insiders demand the special menu, for example with original bun bo hué including coagulated pork blood. Classic phở, bún chả and co are also excellent.
If you have a hankering for Thailand, you are in good hands here between street food trolleys, colourful furniture and the typical plastic chairs. The food selection is very large and offers one or two dishes that are otherwise hard to find here. Authentic and cool.
At Monaco Ramen, a great deal of passion and effort goes into the dishes out of conviction - and of course you can taste it. It is not only because of their regional ingredients that the ramen here is considered the best ramen in Munich. You sometimes have to queue a long time for a bowl.
Saluki combines influences from all over the world to create pizza, kimchi, creative starters and cool cocktails. People meet here on Sundays to chill out and talk in the beautiful Schlachthof district and order everything once - prepared with the best ingredients and love.
If you go to TenInch, don't ignore the wine list. The drinks are also good. You can also order mezze and kebabs grilled over an open fire (also vegan), served in a brioche bun. Great terrace!
Eclipse has been around for a long time and is correspondingly popular. The large outdoor area is usually full to capacity. No wonder: the grilled specialties, the different types of hummus, the Israeli tapas and the traditional dumplings are really great.
