"Live Music" Bars in Berlin
When you order a "Classic Martini" while sitting in a comfortable armchair, the trolley comes over and the drink is mixed live. More exclusivity is hardly possible. The highly trained bar team also spoils its club guests with an impressive range of spirits and great Champagne cocktails.
The Orania.bar in the hotel of the same name in Kreuzberg impresses with its creative freedom. The drinks menu serves as inspiration, but drinks are mixed with or without alcohol, depending on personal preference. The luxurious ambience of the hotel is a wonderful place to linger at the long corner bar.
Outstanding reinterpreted cocktail classics such as the popular "Pornstar Martini" (also available as a softcore version) or the refreshing "Sparkling Sara" are served at this chic bar on the trendy nightlife mile in Mitte. Later in the evening DJs get the stylish bar crowd tapping and dancing along.
Loungy jazz music, elegantly minimalist furnishings and Scandinavian design exude a certain Buddhist serenity throughout the establishment. Added to this is, of course, the art of the attentive bar team in mixing even better cocktails such as "Passions in Berlin" or "Kisses at Night" from good ingredients.
Jazz is played in the tube-like shop under the S-Bahn, what else? Young and well-known jazz musicians from all over the world regularly show what they can do at sessions here. There is also a good selection of cocktails, pre-bottled but with drive, including bottle-aged specials such as "The Hat Old Fashioned".
Red, gold and blue lighting, stylish furniture, an inviting bar and a mosaic of Ursula Andress on the wall: the Ku'damm Bar is all about the sixties elegance of the old James Bond films. The "Martini Dry" and the "Atomicpenecillin", which Bond villain Blofeld would probably also order, are also true to style.
It should look like a cool Frankenstein laboratory in which mysterious concoctions steam away: that was the idea of Tom Zyankali, who opened the Kreuzberg bar in the 1990s. The ingredients and liquids are mostly produced in-house and the drinks are impressive, especially the absinthe-based cocktails.
A classic yet modern hotel bar with a motivated bartender. Seasonally inspired cocktails like the "Mandarin Ricky" or "Barrel-aged Negroni" are served at the stylish bar. Upstairs at the rooftop bar you can celebrate summer in the city with a Limoncello Spritz, all while enjoying a fantastic view over the city centre.
You might expect this hybrid of café and bar to be located in hip Mitte, but the Charlottenburg crowd is also chic. At after-work time, the place transforms into a cool meeting place where, in addition to sensible aperitifs, seasoned cocktails are served and DJs play at a later hour.
Driving beats, a lively buzz of voices, lots of good-looking guys in front of and behind the bar: The atmosphere at Coven is urban and gay, but undogmatically party-ready. Accurate drinks are mixed with great charm at the bar: from classics such as "Naked & Famous" or "Kiss & Tell" to very successful signature drinks.
It's good when you can find a cosy watering hole even in inhospitable places like Potsdamer Platz. The hotel bar is a surprisingly cosy place with a huge whisk(e)y menu, a good selection of cigars and nice people behind the bar. And even the "Potsdamer Platz", a cocktail based on Wild Turkey, tastes good.
A little quirky, a little whimsical and cool. Through the shopping center of the Neukölln Arkaden, you reach the top floor of the parking garage, which is equipped like a huge summer garden with beer benches, sandbox and herb garden. The sandwich and French fries concept feels appropriate.
Thick carpets, plush, chandeliers: there's a lot of bling-bling here at Hackescher Markt. Liberace could also perform in the Liberate Bar, but he would hardly stand out among all the beautiful and eccentric people. There are also drinks such as "Liberarse" (!) or "Basequito", which are definitely worth seeing and drinking.
