"Live Music" Wineries in Burgenland
A breath of fresh air every year: the now pop-up heuriger keeps moving. In 2025, the MAST team led by Matthias Pitra and Steve Breitzke provides fresh impetus. Natural wines, home-grown vegetables and, of course, the much-loved Leberkäse.
The sisters are a little deep with their own description: "Traditional Heurigen food, combined with our regional wines". Because with ideas and passion, it becomes a top address. The latest coup is the themed wine tavern "Brot & Sprudel".
The hosts Doris and Michael, a well-coordinated team in search of that special drop, are passionate about wine. The chef shines with ideas such as the "Weinzeitburger": Surschopf with wine coleslaw in a Wachauer Weckerl. Original and really good.
Whether in the beautiful guest garden or in the cosy parlour, you immediately feel at home here. The venison specialities are an excellent choice: salad with venison boiled fillet, venison aspic and meat loaf impress with their intense flavour and top quality.
A pretty traditional restaurant with an adjoining conservatory overlooking the vineyards of the Gaas vineyard. Fine caraway roast and seasonal gourmet specialities from 5 pm to accompany the always "groszartigen" wines. Always open on request: Rarities and large bottles.
Elisabeth and Johannes Rittsteuer have created a Mediterranean, relaxed place to enjoy their organic wines. Cheese and olives are the minimum requirements for wine lovers. Fridays, when they always serve freshly baked Buchteln, have become a firm favourite.
Typically Burgenland: a spacious courtyard, surrounded by oleanders and filled with hearty laughter. Regional specialities are prepared here with love. Chef and herbalist Ulli surprises with delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes.
The "Landmatura" brings life in the countryside to life in a fun way. Culinary delights take centre stage in the Heurigenstadl: regional, seasonal and homemade. Many products are also available to take away in the farm store. An enjoyable excursion destination for the whole family.
Known as a specialist for high-quality ‘Blaufränker’ wines. The newly refurbished premises serve classic Heurigen snacks, sandwiches, homemade spreads and various salads. Tip: Pinot Blanc and Blaufränkisch from the Hochäcker and Dürrau vineyards.
The bush has now been flying in front of the house for 105 years. The most recent change was to the cellar, which Lukas Döller took over from his uncle Heinz. He devotes himself entirely to the huge wine tavern and its seasonal specialities as well as the "Döller-Talers", which are in demand all year round.
The Dorfwirt has had a new team since last year. Cold Heurigen specialities meet hearty home cooking. The wine selection is small but fine. Recommendation: homemade sausages and various homemade pastries from the display case.
Anything that is not homemade comes from regional partners. But most of it is made in-house - from hearty spreads to fine meat specialities and pumpkin seed oil. And of course, the in-house wine. The wine pork ham is great!
The menu follows the rhythm of the seasons. Refined dishes full of savouriness, depth and creative ideas never cease to surprise. However, the unchanged classic and evergreen of the house, which never goes out of fashion, remains the onion roast.
Architecturally a jewel of the Purbach cellars. And Sandhofer is serious about making his guests happy, mixing the tried and tested with the new. Homemade classics such as Blunzen meet modern ideas (sesame pancakes); coleslaw awaits with the bean strudel. It fits!
Deeply rooted in central Burgenland, tradition is passed down from generation to generation here; the wines are clear statements from the region. They are accompanied by homemade, down-to-earth cuisine, and it gets really cosy when the folk music plays.
The Lehner family uses products from the region to create hearty snacks, seasonal specialities and traditional home cooking. The wine list delivers total Burgenland: from Blaufränkisch to Muskat Ottonel. Recommendation: the organic range and the Grammelpogatscherln!
