Munich's most interesting shop window in the city centre does not belong to a luxury boutique. The Tagesbar is an institution where there is always plenty to see. The discerning clientele order classic drinks and food without a lot of frills. A timeless meeting place for lovers of the essentials.
In the living room-style bar, award-winning bartender Sven Goller and his team mix excellent drinks with regional ingredients such as smoked beer, juice from orchards or Bamberg liquorice. The new extra menu "Taste of Bamberg" captures different places of the Franconian city in a drink.
This tiki bar promises an "instant paradise": all year round, you can escape to the South Seas with a mini jungle, peacock chairs and cheerful bartenders in colourful summer shirts. With more than 160 rums to choose from - or you can try the flinty tiki drink "Fire & Nice" with Jamaican rum and mango puree.
In Rosenheim's living room, the modified motto "Live. Love. Lausa.": Mules, spritz creations and experimental cocktails are served in an honest atmosphere - or in an iced beer mug. Those who like it spicier can try the "Sipping Samurai" with lemon and kaffir.
You can learn something here, but you don't have to. And isn't that something wonderful? Kris Krolo and Florian Rath are happy to guide guests through the herb garden of 400 Amaro bottles lined up behind the bar or pour a Croatian wine. But even those who like it classic will find what they are looking for here.
Sven Goller from Schwarzes Schaf and bar manager Michael Rott vivid a range of certified organic drinks with minimal waste at their new address at the other end of the city. One of the many signature drinks: "Conor McGregor" with Irish whiskey, homemade Guinness cordial, sloe gin and licorice smoke.
In amongst the tried and tested, this small bar in a minimalist, sixties style aims to challenge with innovative creations such as the smoky, fruity "Asphalt Cowboy" with mezcal, prickly pear, salt and homemade tonka cordial. At the weekend the location transforms into a dance club.
Inspired by the excessive Formula 1 world champion, the Hunt is the pit stop before moving on to the clubs. The compact NY-style bar has more standing room than seats and quickly fills up with the cross-section of Munich's University district. Very good highballs and modern classics are served - without a long wait.
