"Tapas" Street Food Restaurants in Hanover
The place is usually lively. Especially in the warmer months, the restaurant is equally busy inside and on the terrace in the inner courtyard. The standard menu with Spanish tapas, meat and fish dishes is supplemented by changing daily specials.
Those who like the Rias Baixas II will also feel at home at O'Atlántico. Two brothers run the restaurants, one here, the other there. The Spanish style of cooking is the same, and the purchasing of products is managed from one location. The atmosphere at O'Atlántico is a little more idyllic.
Drinking and eating go hand in hand here. La Casa serves freshly made paella, but snacks such as pimientos de padrón, dates wrapped in bacon or baked anchovies are also popular with beer, wine or cocktails.
The fact that El Chileno has been able to survive for so long is certainly not due to its somewhat dreary location between the Scharnhorst barracks and the Oststadtstadion, but rather to its excellent South American cuisine - the pork cheeks and the corn casserole with beef and sultanas are great.
Rustic Spanish restaurant on a busy street. There is an abundance of standard tapas, but daily specials such as feta with herb honey wrapped in bacon, bean and chorizo stew or baked chicken with patatas bravas are also part of the repertoire.
In addition to the standard menu - from savoury mussels and dates wrapped in bacon to crab croquettes - this Spanish restaurant also offers daily specials such as grilled octopus with tomato and onion, vegetables and potatoes. The prices are relatively reasonable.
