The best street food venues of type "Italian Cuisine" in Lower Saxony
When it comes to Neapolitan pizza, there is no alternative to the Bestia. The dough - baked at 480 degrees for a maximum of 90 seconds - is tender and fluffy. The topping ingredients from Italy are of good quality. Particularly delicious: the white pizza with fior di latte, mortadella and pistachio pesto.
A candidate for a favourite restaurant, because the massive stone oven transforms the homemade sourdough into tender pizza, panini or bread with tinned sardines and fresh lemon juice. Served with home-made sour vegetables and a Cynar tonic? A strong performance!
If Giorgio Marchioretti is not satisfied with the goods he receives in Germany, he has them sent directly from his homeland, Piedmont: sausages, cheese or wine. That says a lot about the small restaurant, where guests are treated to authentic snacks.
The Pastabar's greatest pleasure is the homemade pasta. These are prepared as classics, such as paccheri all'arrabbiata, but there are also creative variations to choose from, such as tagliatelle con pesto kale with kale pesto instead of basil pesto. The wines are okay.
The lack of staff is making itself felt at Hanover's pizza institution, Francesca & Fratelli, which has recently closed branches. The location in Seilwinderstraße and the fantastic quality of the pizzas remain unaffected - you can't go wrong!
The shack in the old town may not look inviting, but the pizza sandwiches are made with homemade dough and filled in a variety of ways, for example with mortadella, buffalo cheese and pistachio pesto or with olive cream, tomatoes and rocket. Crispy. Fresh. Marvellous.

In the front part of the restaurant in the posh Zooviertel district, you sit at high tables and at the bar, while the back part has a restaurant flair. And the clientele is also colourful. Good pizzas and pasta dishes beckon. And if you want a good glass of wine to go with your meal, you won't be disappointed.
Gianni is one of those places that you can visit anytime and anywhere. Spontaneously, if there's a free seat, or even for a small celebration without much fanfare. The pasta dishes are great, the pizzas well made, such as the one with Parma ham and rocket.
Sometimes guests can hear the monkeys screaming in the neighbouring zoo. The restaurant, which is connected to the tennis club, is in a very idyllic location with a large garden and small playground. The pasta dishes (such as aglio e olio) and pizzas (such as frutti di mare) are great.
The location with bare stone walls and graffiti is punky, but the pizzas are more mainstream: margarita, salami, funghi and co. The tender dough is fun. The pizzas are served with bowls of chilli and garlic sauce. The attentive service is memorable.
Bistro Da Toni in the List has long been a place to go for a quick plate of pasta or a stone-oven pizza. In terms of quality Da Toni has certainly been overtaken by other providers in the meantime, but the business is quite reliable in maintaining its prices at around ten euros.
