New book Details 800-Year History of Château Haut-Bailly

A new book 'Château Haut-Bailly: an exceptional terroir' looks back at the illustrious history of one of Bordeaux's most renowned estates.

Château Haut-Bailly has released a new book detailing its history as one of Bordeaux's most famous estates. The book by Jane Anson traces the roots of the 33-hectare estate back to the 14th century and ends with the opening of Haut-Bailly’s new cellar this year. "Readers will discover, understand and learn about Haut-Bailly’s pioneering precision viticulture and its uniquely thought-out approach to the art of winemaking," the company said. "The book also captures the style, spirit and elegance of Haut- Bailly’s age-worthy wines."

Haut-Bailly's 2021 vintage will be the first to be produced in its contemporary, custom-built winery which was completed at the end of last year. The winery, designed by Daniel Romeo, has a curved exterior and hanging garden. Its vinification hall holds 54 vats, whose curves are emphasized by the natural light that enters in from the vault, with two suspended staircases leading to the barrel cellar.
