Jennifer Lopez and Sir Richard Branson team up

Five-day cruise inspired by JLo takes in Puerto Plata and Bimini.

While the firm’s supremo Sir Richard Branson (SRB) doesn’t traditionally go by his initials, the new Chief Entertainment & Lifestyle Officer of Virgin Voyages, Jennifer Lopez, is far better known by her trademark moniker.

The two have teamed up on the latest Virgin Voyages’ venture that will see passengers depart from Miami in April on a five-night women and entrepreneurship-themed cruise to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Virgin Voyages’ private Beach Club at Bimini in the Bahamas, before returning to Miami.

While the trip is open to anyone, the focus is on celebrating women with JLo-inspired programming including 90s dance classes, panel discussions led by female entrepreneurs and zen-inducing wellness programming. While JLo won’t be joining guests on the trip she will be present at a sail away party to wish passengers bon voyage.

“My mission has always been to entertain, empower and inspire my fans to live their lives without putting limits on what they believe they can achieve,” said JLo in a statement.

The collaboration between Sir Richard’s Virgin Voyages and JLo’s philanthropic organisation Limitless Labs will offer events on board Scarlet Lady focusing on personal and professional growth. Fifty cabins on the trip will be donated to Latina entrepreneurs through the non-profit Grameen America, and the voyage departs Miami on Friday, April 14, 6pm local time, returning on April 19 at 6.30am local time.
