Tequila training shoes hit the market inspired by 21 Seeds

Birdies in tie up with Diageo to create a distinctive range of three summer sneakers.

As link-ups go, tequila and training shoes may not be the most natural, but that hasn’t stopped Diageo and footwear brand Birdies creating a highly distinctive range of women’s trainers.

The flavours of its 21 Seeds Tequila have been the inspiration behind the Top-Shelf Sneakers Collection, a limited-edition launch with the trainers available in three colours based on the tequilas – cucumber jalapeño, grapefruit hibiscus variant and Valencia orange. The brand, 21 Seeds, was purchased by Diageo a year ago, the firm founded in 2019 by Kat Hantas, Nicole Emanuel and Sarika Singh creating tequilas infused with real fruit juice.

Bianca Gates, co-founder and CEO of Birdies, said: “We’ve admired 21 Seeds for years as another female-led brand, from its founders to its distilleries, whose focus is empowering women to share ideas and make connections. Our brands coming together felt like a natural fit based on these shared values, and we’re excited to bring this fun new sneaker to our communities just in time for summer.”

The Birdies range is now available to buy in stores while supplies last, and also online via the Birdie’s website, priced at $165.
