Even from the outside, the new Museum of the Future in Dubai is a real eye-catcher. Shiny silver and decorated with quotes about the future, it rises in the trendy hotspot of Dubai and should definitely be on your bucket list.
Long before its opening, the Museum od the Future in Dubai an der viel befahrenen Sheik Zayed Road mit seiner ungewohnten Form ein echter Hingucker. Es wurde vorab von National Graphic zu den 14 schönsten Museen weltweit geadelt. Der in Form eines ovalen Torus geformte Baukörper hat eine silbern schimmernde Außenhaut, durchbrochen mit filigraner Kalligrafie, und ist zwischen den zahlreichen, in den Himmel ragenden Wolkenkratzern ein echtes architektonisches Meisterwerk. Das stromlinienförmige Gebäude ist 77 Meter hoch und kommt ohne Ecken und Kanten aus. Architekt Shaun Killa erklärt die zugrundeliegende Idee: „Die Form des Gebäudes folgt den Prinzipien von Feng Shui. Das riesige Loch in der Mitte soll all das symbolisieren, was wir nicht wissen“, sagt der aus Südafrika stammende Architekt. Die Fassade ist mit Zitaten von Scheich Muhammad bin Raschid Al Maktum zum Thema Zukunft versehen. Dafür wurden 1024 Paneele montiert, und 14 000 Meter Lichtlinien setzen das kalligrafische Meisterwerk in das richtige Licht.
Thematically, the new museum is primarily dedicated to the question of how new technologies will change our lives in the next 50 years. The museum is also a scientific center that aims to find solutions for the world of tomorrow. Various experiential exhibitions are presented on the seven floors, for example about life in space, the rainforest or future technologies.

The architecture here is also bold. The twin towers rise high into the sky and are connected by a bathing deck with an infinity pool at a height of 310 meters.
