The film "Wuthering Heights" has just been released in cinemas and is causing controversy. Whatever you think of the latest film adaptation of the novel by English author Emily Brontë, it is causing a stir worldwide. The winner is certainly the historic county of Yorkshire: its landscapes and accommodation with Gothic-romantic charm are skillfully staged in the film. Falstaff TRAVEL presents hotels where fans can go in search of clues.
Many of the scenes are set in the northern English countryside and moors such as Bridestones Moor or the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The hotel where the film crew spent the night
The country house hotel "Simonstone Hall" is located in the middle of the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. It proudly announced on its social media channels that director Emerald Fennell, cast and crew had rented all 20 rooms during the roughly two-and-a-half weeks of filming last year in 2025. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi stayed in the Principal Rooms - Elordi, who owns a golden retriever, opted for a dog-friendly room.
In February and March 2026, the hotel is offering special "Wuthering Heights Packages" where guests can experience what the film crew enjoyed during their stay. Included in this promotion, there will be candlelight dinners as well as excursions into the surrounding landscapes that have served as movie sets.
Thrushcross Grange is a stately home in Emily Brontë's novel that stands for wealth and social conventions. The Linton family live in a magnificent house on the Yorkshire moors and raise their daughter Catherine, played by Margot Robbie in the new film, according to the rules of the upper classes.
Airbnb rents out "Cathy's Bedroom"
Trushcross Grange is literary fiction, not a real place. Nevertheless, the rental platform "Airbnb" in cooperation with "Warner Bros. Pictures" makes it possible to stay in the real halls. In the village of Holmfield in Brontë Country, a replica of Catherine's all-pink bedroom has been set up. Guests also receive a curated program in "Wuthering Heights" style: a horseback ride across the moors, Yorkshire Afternoon Tea and an intimate candlelit dinner.
"Cathy's Bedroom" can be booked between February 27 and March 4, 2026. Guests can try to reserve their overnight stay from February 20, 2026.
Both "Cathy's Bedroom" and the film crew's hotel are sure to be inundated with inquiries in the near future. To experience the flair of the film and get to know County Yorkshire, there are also other hotels.
