Durch die Eröffnung der The Grid Bar 2018 findet ein geheimnisvoller Speakeasy-Flair Einzug in die Friesenstraße. Als Speakeasy werden Bars bezeichnet, die von außen nicht wirklich als solche erkennbar sind – eine Secret-Bar also. Von außen unscheinbar erhält der Gast erst nach Betätigung der Klingel Einlass in das von Bambuspflanzen und Vorhängen eingerahmte Entree. Platz genommen wird im eigentlichen Barbereich unter einer goldenen Decke am bernsteinernen Tresen. Wer ein paar Schritte durch die Bar macht, gelangt im hinteren Teil in den exklusiven Innenhof. An kalten Tagen sorgen die angebrachten Heizstrahler für das richtige Klima und jeden Freitag und Samstag sowie vor Feiertagen übernehmen ausgesuchte DJs diese Aufgabe. Hier wird noch Vinyl aufgelegt und der Sound von Funk, Soul und Hip-Hop begleitet den Abend.
