The four-star-superior-hotel Höflehner surprises with three new culinary concepts
Natural culinary delights at their best.
The four-star Hotel Höflehner is located in Schladming at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. While guests enjoy the accommodation as a retreat, gourmets are also spoiled. Because the Hotel has made good use of the time in lockdown and now surprises with numerous culinary highlights packed into three new worlds of enjoyment.
Fresh and regional
When the team at the Nature and Wellness Hotel Höflehner experiments with crunchy vegetables, fresh wild herbs and regional delicacies, culinary dreams are born. Over the past year, the entrepreneurial family has developed a completely new food concept. "The reopening is the perfect premiere - we are starting a new culinary era together with our first guests", says Gerhard Höflehner happily.
Together with his wife Katrin, he has turned nature into an inspiring kitchen helper: "We assume that hobby chefs and gourmets will emerge among our guests during the lockdown. Guests are becoming more and more demanding. This has motivated us to develop a brand new concept", explains Katrin Höflehner. For head chef Martin Dicker, it is "a unique challenge! I love cooking innovatively and implementing colorful ideas with the claim of a sustainable philosophy in the kitchen."
The three GKH pleasure lines - from hiking snacks to gourmet dinners
The message of the new concept is "Back to nature", and at 1,117 meters above sea level, you don't have to go back, just out the door. "It's that simple and beautiful here on the Gumpenberg," enthuses Gerhard Höflehner. As a true mountain expert, he is responsible for the first of the three pillars of the Nature Culinary Center "Gerhards Healthy enjoyment": These culinary delights should be balanced and easily digestible, invigorating for the next summit assault. Sophisticated, vital indulgence makes you agile and invigorates you from the inside. This is exactly what active people like Gerhard need for breakfast - as a basis for the expected adventure. Gerhard loves to bite into a warm, homemade purple bread with a curd and turmeric spread and freshly harvested cress on top: "A snack that tastes good at any time of day, fills the stomach and gives you strength - simply a healthy treat."
Hotspot "Katrin's creative cuisine" food is an experience for all the senses. Culinary curiosity is the best prerequisite for a journey through her world. Her favorite dishes are a colorful bowl based on quinoa, with local fish and pomegranate seeds as a refreshing topping, to name just the three main ingredients. Dishes here should not only taste good, but also look particularly good - at the same time, we like to think outside the box: Experiments with oriental spices or Mediterranean herbs add international flair to familiar dishes.
It's not just a rumor that the Höflehners get to the root of things. This is precisely why they, as a family, represent the third pillar of the Naturkulinarium. With "Höflehner's home-style cooking" you go back to the roots. Hearty and rustic, traditional and sometimes dignified. Old recipes, reinterpreted classics and comfort food are the culmination of a genuine love of home. When cooking for the family, the Wiener Schnitzel usually takes center stage - accompanied by potato salad according to grandma's secret recipe, which has been optimized over generations.

And the hotel also impresses in every other respect. The wellness area extends over 3,700 square meters and promises pure relaxation. Those who want to be a little more active have the opportunity to practise yoga outdoors and in the forest or go on guided hikes in the Schladming area.
