Falstaff Wineguide Austria/South Tyrol 2021/22

The traditional winery Allram of the Haas-Allram family is located in the heart of the wine-growing region Kamptal, in the wine village Straß im Straßertale. Since 2015, the next generation, son Lorenz Haas-Allram, has been at the helm of the family business. The young vintner draws on an enormous potential, because if you talk about Allram, you cannot avoid mentioning sites like Gaisberg, Renner and Heiligenstein. The 1.5 hectare Heiligenstein site was recultivated in 1998 after 30 years of being fallow land and is now the basis for an absolutely exceptional Riesling.

The aim of the winegrowing family is to make wines that tell a story - a story of the vineyards in which they find their provenance and the people who shape them. This gives maximum expression to the prime sites and the Kamptal region and is achieved through living soils, varied fauna and flora in the vineyards, as well as minimal intervention in the maturation process of the wines along with the courage to try something new. consequently, the wines of the Haas-Allrams captivate by precision and great length.

Lorenz Haas-Allram has already impressively proven his skills with numerous national and international awards. The highlight of his young wine-making career so far is certainly the coveted "White Wine Trophy" of the "International Wine Challenge" in London, which he brought to Austria for the first time with the 2016 Riesling Ried Gaisberg 1 ÖTW.

A renovated Art Nouveau villa in the middle of the village, which can be easily reached on foot from the winery, is available to customers and wine lovers as a guest house.
