Bulgari Hotel Roma: A New Luxury Opening in the Eternal City

The Bulgari empire has long since expanded beyond luxury boutiques. The world of hotels would be inconceivable without the brand. And just in: The Bulgari Hotel Roma.

With the opening of the Bulgari Hotel Roma, the world-renowned brand returns to the place where the foundation stone for its success was once laid. For it was Rome's Via Condotti that Greek goldsmith Sotirios Voulgaris chose for his first boutique in 1905.

Eight more followed; the newest among them opened just a few weeks ago.

Oasis in the urban jungle

Whether you're a regular visitor to Rome or strolling through its historic streets for the first time, there's something to discover at every turn. Even a simple walk becomes a trip to bygone eras. The district of Campo Marzio is no exception.

The Spanish Steps are located here as well as the Piazza Augusto Imperatore, named after the Emperor's mausoleum. Exactly opposite this, the renowned architect Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo erected a building between 1936 and 1938, which initially served as the headquarters of the Italian Security Agency. And which now celebrates its new existence as the Bulgari Hotel Roma.

Glamouros Interior

As rationalistic as the architecture is from the outside, the interior of the 114-room and suite luxury hotel is elegant. Architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel were responsible for this. Four different color palettes (white, red, yellow and green) define the character of each room; they are even reflected in the color of the marble in the bathrooms. Historic Bulgari posters, breathtaking views, and measure-made fabrics frame handcrafted furniture, 1930s Ginori vases, and inconspicuously hidden technology.

Dafür gibt’s aber auch the finest luxury, unrestricted view of the mausoleum and 300 square meters of living space. The wallpapers are by Rubelli, you walk on a Mosaic floor and can be sure that one will lack nothing.

Enjoy elegance

Top chef Niko Romito was already on board for the opening of Bulgari's second hotel, Bulgari Beijing. His culinary excellence forms one of the fundamental pillars of the Bulgari Experience. The team of the chef, who has been crowned with three stars by the Guide Michelin, is running at top form on the fifth floor. Modern Italian cuisine, refined flavors and craftsmanship bounce off each other in the pots here. While eating, the view from the terrace once again falls on the mausoleum.

If you don't want to miss a day of training even on vacation or if the Sightseeing marathon nicht ausreicht, um den Bewegungsdrang zu stillen, gibt’s ein ganz spezielles Angebot. Denn im Gym kann man auf Wunsch nach dem Trainingsplan von Lee Mullins train. The celebrated personal trainer designed the pool especially for Bulgari guests. The 20-meter-long pool (decorated with Bisazza mosaics) is a particularly elegant place to swim.

The spa doesn't forget the historical heritage of the city. After all, the beneficial effects of thermal baths were already known in ancient times here. Translated into modern times, this means that guests are pampered on 1,500 square meters with, among other things, the renowned products of Augustinus Bader.
