A spectacular comeback for the Canadian luxury hotel group in Bangkok with a beautiful riverfront retreat.
The 299 rooms and suites and the 74 exclusive residences in the Residential Tower define luxury in a new way. Above all, it is a spaciousness that is characteristic of the entire building. A conscious decision was made to forego a large number of guest rooms. The generously proportioned rooms have at least 50 square meters of space and feature high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow views of the river or garden. Perfectly coordinated shades of white and gray echo the colors of the river. Sliding wall panels, covered in imitation ostrich leather, separate the living area from the bathroom, which has freestanding designer bathtubs and separate glass-enclosed showers and toilets. Really comfortable are the fluffy bathrobes, and the finest cotton was also used for the down comforters and pillows. Special amenities include a small house bar with instructions on how to make special cocktails.

Schon die Lobby, Herz des Hotels, besticht mit gewellten Vorhängen, auf denen ganz dezent Elefanten zu sehen sind. Die Dickhäuter – sie symbolisieren für thailändische Buddhisten Glück, Stärke, Fleiß und Intelligenz und werden deshalb verehrt – eskortieren den Gast bis zur Rezeption. Diese befindet sich in einem vergoldeten Rondell und steht für die aufgehende Sonne am Fluss. Am gegenüberliegenden Ende der langgestreckten Lounge, in der ein stilvoller Nachmittagstee zelebriert wird, ist auf einem bis zur Decke reichenden Relief der Flussverlauf des Chao Phraya Rivers zu sehen. Hohe Glaswände, fließendes Wasser und zahlreiche Pools schaffen eine Verbindung nach draußen. Von Gathy selbst kuratiert wird ein eigener ART Space in Zusammenarbeit mit dem MOCA. Er erstreckt sich von der Lobby bis zum Fluss, und in ihm präsentieren zeitgenössische thailändische Künstler in wechselnden Ausstellungen ihre Werke.
Die feine, kantonesische Küche, wurde bereits mit einem Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnet. Man kann die Köche in der offenen Küche beobachten, wie Peking-Ente und köstliche Dim Sum zubereitet werden. Und dann gibt es Andrea Accordi, der einen kulinarischen Liebesbrief aus Italien nach Thailand bringt. Mit der französischen Brasserie Palmier – hier probieren Gäste Austern und genießen gute Weine – und dem Madeleine Cafe gibt es noch weitere kulinarische Angebote.
