For many, the summer holiday is just around the corner. Especially Croatia is a popular destination. Hotels have reopened and many regions are no longer considered risk areas. Here you can find out which rules still apply and what you need to be aware of as a vacationer.

With over 1,700 kilometers of coastline and more than 1,000 islands, Croatia is considered a true vacation destination, especially for Austrians. The numerous dream beaches and idyllic towns provide a pure summer feeling! Corona numbers are now also falling in the Adriatic country, making it much easier for holidaymakers to enter the country. Since June 6, the Robert Koch Institute no longer classifies the counties of Dubrovnik-Neretva, Istria, Karlovac, Krapina-Zagorje, Požega-Slavonia and Split-Dalmatia as risk areas.
This means that, on the one hand, the quarantine obligation on entry and return to Austria no longer applies. Before entering the country, vacationers must check for this Register and present a negative PCR test that is not older than 72 hours or a negative antigen test that is not older than 48 hours. Vaccinated persons only need to show their vaccination certificate. Passports are valid if the first vaccination was at least 22 days ago or the second vaccination 14 days ago. People who have recovered from a coronavirus infection must present a certificate of recovery.
These rules apply in restaurants and on beaches
A minimum distance of 1.5 meters applies throughout the country, both outdoors and indoors. If this cannot be maintained, a face mask must be worn. Hotels, restaurants and pubs are open. Negative corona tests are not required to enter the premises, but masks are compulsory. The same applies to stores. The sale of alcohol is currently prohibited between midnight and 6 a.m.
There are access restrictions in place at beaches to avoid overcrowding. Furthermore, deckchairs must be placed in pairs at intervals of 4.5 metres.
