A perfect win-win situation!

How many times in the past twelve months have we moved to another country - let's say Italy - but then woke up from our little daydream because a new e-mail arrived in our inbox? This dream could soon become reality. Because two places in Italy are looking for people to relocate their home office to the popular vacation region. The best thing about it: half the rent is also covered.

You can find out what you need to do here.

Italy entices with home office

Since the pandemic at the latest, working from home has become part of everyday life for many people. But instead of always staring at their own four walls, some people will soon have the opportunity to change their environment and move their workplace to Italy without further ado. Because the two cities Santa Fiora in Tuscany and Rieti in Lazio have has come up with a very special strategy to secure its own future and make teleworkers happy at the same time.

The new "Smart Village"

Santa Fiora wants to breathe new life into the town and attract people and entire companies to work from home. The Italian village has laid new lines for high-speed Internet and set up various workstations for this purpose. And Rieti is also courting new residents who want to relocate their work to Lazio and thus counteract a shrinking population. So if you work from your new home, you get so-called Rental voucherswhich halve the costs per month.

These are the requirements

So if you decide to relocate your office to Italy, you need to fulfill a few requirements first. In Rieti, employees must have their remote model confirmed by their employer. Freelancers can submit a detailed description of their job. The minimum stay in the city is three months - whereby the rental support can also be extended to more than six months. In general, you can expect to pay between 250 and 500 euros per month.

In Santa Fiora, employees do not need confirmation from their employer - a detailed description is sufficient. The workers must live in the village for two to six months. After that, they have to pay the rent in full themselves. Rents in the village range from 300 to 500 euros per month. Also interesting: Anyone who not only works from Santa Fiora but also has a child will receive a baby bonus of 1,500 euros. If you want to earn even more, you can invest in the tourism sector and receive a grant of around 30,000 euros if you open a new hotel, B&B or hostel.
