Nice's best food spots
Nice is a paradise for connoisseurs. Between the azure sea and the colorful alleys of the old town, a number of exclusive restaurants, cafés, and bakeries invite you to indulge and unwind.
Racines
An ode to the fruit and vegetables growing around Nice: Chef Bruno Cirino and his team were awarded a star in 2024 for their vegetarian cuisine. All ingredients come from local producers or from our own garden.
Onice
Behind this cozy, one-star restaurant in the antiques district stands an Argentinian-Italian couple who met and fell in love at the nearby Mirazur run by three-star chef Mauro Colagreco. Here, you can indulge in seasonal, often surprising cuisine inspired by local produce.
Pèche è la Vigne
In the wine bar, which focuses on natural wines, you'll get aperitifs all day long, sandwiches and croques with cheese from the farm; next door in the bistro, the best of Italian and French cuisine (the owners were born in Sicily). Just like with friends!
Hely
Concept? No such thing! Here, you cook by just feeling it; traditional and modern. The handwritten menu includes endive with herring and tahini tonnato or hot dogs à la lyonnais.
Le Canon
If you ask local chefs where they like to eat, the answer is often Le Canon. Here, you can enjoy down-to-earth bistro cuisine that changes every day - depending on what the chef finds at the market or what fisherman Steve Molinari has caught. Natural wines from small producers are served in the glass.
Chez Davia
Down-to-earth bistro with a warm atmosphere. Founded in 1953 by Grandma Davia, it is now run by the third generation of the family. The menu features local, carefully modernized feel-good cuisine made from the best ingredients.
Bars & Coffee
La Part des Anges
The natural wine pioneer of the whole city, or rather: the whole country! Since 1998, vin naturel has been served here, along with snacks and cold dishes.
Bar Povera
Newly opened bar that applies the concept of Cucina Povera to cocktails - creative dishes made from simple ingredients, no waste. For example, oil and syrup are made from bean pods. Seasonally changing menu; served with Nice-style sandwiches.
Brume Coffee
This sunny corner house in the heart of the old town serves fairly roasted specialty coffee as well as sweet and savory homemade snacks.
Boulangeries
La Boulangerie par Michel Fiori
Multiple award-winning croissants - in addition to classic ones, they are filled with all kinds of delicacies (homemade chocolate cream made by an old lady, strawberry, matcha ...). For savory cravings, there are sumptuous sandwiches and pissaladière.
Pompom
Since the end of 2023, this inconspicuous corner house has been baking excellent organic bread; fougasse with olives, cinnamon knots and - irresistible! - Provençal brioche: with olive oil instead of butter.
Socca
Chez Theresa
Here, Socca has been baked to perfection for 100 years, as well as pissaladière, tourte de blettes and trouchia (tart and omelette with chard). The market on the Cours Saleya also sells.
La Socca d'Or
Contenders in the battle for the best socca in town. The restaurant near the harbor also offers pissaladière and pizza as well as some larger dishes such as the Daube niçoise stew.
