These are the 10 best James Bond hotels worldwide

Destinations
Experiences

The globetrotter among the secret agents has already turned the whole world into film locations. Hotels, too. Some of which are particularly beautiful.

With "No Time to Die", the long-awaited 25th action film about the British secret agent on a mission for His Majesty is finally coming to cinemas. Once again, it will demand a great deal of local flexibility from 007. After all, he has to leave his retirement in Jamaica and jet around the world again to hunt down criminals. The Bond universe is famous for its many spectacular outdoor locations. But iconic hotels have also found their way onto the big screen thanks to him. Here are 10 James Bond hotels that are worth a visit.

Grandhotel Pupp, Czech Republic: Casino Royal

The noble grand hotel with its chandeliers, wood paneling and marble bathrooms hosted James Bond, then played by Daniel Craig, in "Casino Royale" in 2006. In addition to the restaurant, the lobby can also be seen in the movie. This is where he meets Bond girl Eva.

Belmond Hotel Cipriani, Italy: Casino Royale

He proves time and again that 007 has good taste: his suits - since Craig started playing the agent - are by Tom Ford, his cars are fast and expensive and his women are supermodels. Of course, you don't just stay in any hotel. In "Casino Royale", Bond and his lady love dock at the Hotel Cipriani. The luxurious hotel with just 79 rooms on the Guidecca is a little legend in its own right. The big names in the industry regularly stay here.

Hotel Cala di Volpe, Italy: "The spy who loved me"

The Bond Hotel in Sardinia is still a jewel today. 121 rooms, colorful style, sea views of the Costa Smeralda: what more could you want? In "The Spy Who Loved Me", the hotel's piano bar served as James Bond's room. Back then, in 1977, embodied by Roger Moore. Incidentally, no one has played the secret agent more often than him.

Located on Hamburg's Outer Alster lake, the hotel has been a popular home away from home for many famous guests for over 100 years. Even the agent with the license to kill got lost here. More precisely: Pierce Brosnan in "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997). During a chase scene, he climbs the globe that adorns the entrance to the time-honored house.

The Langham London, UK: "Golden Eye"

Opened in 1865, The Langham, London has already hosted personalities such as Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde. Crowned heads have also been guests. And toned bodies. Like in 1995, when Pierce Brosnan in the role of James Bond made the sumptuous carpets, heavy curtains and iconic façade the setting for "Golden Eye".

The elegance of this hotel on the European shore of the Bosphorus is hard to beat. Fragrant flowers, a marble lobby, sophisticated suites with walnut furniture and impeccable service make up the Bond Hotel in Istanbul. Filming for "Skyfall" (2012) with Daniel Craig took place here, as did the press conference for the film.

Hotel Taj Lake Palace, India: "Octopussy"

The marble building, which houses just 83 rooms and suites, served as a hideout for Bond girl Maud Adams in 1983's "Octopussy". Other locations of the first Bond film, which took the agent to India, were in and around Udaipur. The Taj Palace itself is a luxurious temple decorated with Indian ornaments and lavishly furnished.

The Mexican Gran Hotel with its imposing Tiffany glass roof is a kind of landmark in its own right. The ambience: elegant, pompous. Gold-framed mirrors, deep upholstered furniture and floral patterns exude opulence. No wonder Bond appeared in this hotel twice. The first time was in "The License to Kill" in 1989 with Timothy Dalton in the leading role, the second time in "Spectre", when Bond-Craig has fun with a woman here.

The Peninsula Hong Kong, China: "The Man with the Golden Gun"

Oriental flair meets modern luxury at the Peninsula Hong Kong. The service is of course impeccable, the hotel comes complete with helipad, posh restaurant "Felix", shopping arcade and spa. As early as 1974, when Roger Moore played "The Man with the Golden Gun" here, the hotel played all the right roles.

A lot has changed since Bond girl Barbara Carrera fell for James Bond (Sean Connery) in the hotel's Pavilion Bar in "Never say never" here in 1983. However, some things have remained the same. For example, the hotel still has mosaics in the lobby and restaurant. The rooms and suites are modern, with a colonial style and subtle colors. The location? Wonderful: right on Nassau's private sandy beach.
