Elegant landmark
The history of the Sina Bernini Bristol began around 140 years. Zunächst kannte man es nur als “The Bristol”. Damit würdigte man dem ersten Baronet von Bristol, einem protestantischen Bischof. Etwas später kam der Beiname “Bernini”. Mit ihm erwies man dem world famous baroque artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini his honor. Because he created the Triton fountain directly in front of the hotel in Rome.
But the hotel became famous rather because it was the first hotel of the Renaissance to install a hydraulic lift. This masterpiece, powered by an underground spring, was an attraction that everyone wanted to see. Soon the Emperor of Brazil, German and Greek heirs to the throne, the Princess of Montenegro, Queen Elizabeth II., Lady Diana, the Rockefellers, the Onassises and the Vanderbilts all came to stay at the hotel.
