This Scottish Beer Draws Inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons
London’s Dungeons & Dragons–themed bar “RPG Taverns” has joined forces with Edinburgh‑based nano‑brewery “Closet Brewing” to create a beer inspired by the iconic role‑playing game—bringing a taste of adventure to every pint.
The small Edinburgh‑based brewery Closet Brewing, founded and run by two queer women, has earned a following for its distinctive vegan beers. In collaboration with London’s Dungeons & Dragons–themed bar and community hub RPG Taverns, the brewery has launched a playful new creation inspired by the beloved board game.
Aptly named Tabletop, it is brewed at 3.2 percent ABV and crafted to be “light, refreshing, and highly drinkable”—a fitting choice for Dungeons & Dragons sessions that can last well over three hours. This limited‑edition release celebrates the shared values of creativity, inclusivity, and fun that unite both brands.
The label artwork was designed by Orion, a queer, neurodivergent, transgender designer and tattoo artist from Edinburgh. A lifelong D&D enthusiast celebrated for his illustrations of “weird little creatures,” Orion used the project to bring to life a “biblically correct D20” on the label.
Tabletop impresses with notes of grapefruit, ripe mango and tangy lime—with its low alcohol content and high charisma, the beer is the perfect companion, whether for a short break or a marathon campaign.

“RPG Taverns have supported us since the very beginning of Closet, so we jumped at the chance to collaborate—not only to craft a great, easy‑drinking beer, but also to create a unique D&D adventure,” say the two brewers behind Closet Brewing.
Tabletop is available now in Closet Brewing's online shop and at selected independent bars and bottle shops across the UK.
