An impressive line-up of pastry and chocolate experts has been announced for the 2026 Grand Final of the World Chocolate Masters. Led by Amaury Guichon, the international jury also includes Swedish pastry chef Frida Bäcke, who will represent the Nordic region at the prestigious competition.
The World Chocolate Masters, widely regarded as the most prestigious competition dedicated to the art of chocolate, has announced the international jury for its 2026 Grand Final. Taking place this October, the event will bring together 15 of the world’s most talented chocolatiers, who will compete under the theme “Play & Taste” and showcase their vision for the future of chocolate.
Leading the jury is internationally acclaimed pastry chef and chocolatier Amaury Guichon (USA), joined by Jordi Roca (Spain) as Head of Sensory Evaluation and Kirsten Tibballs (Australia) as Head of Technical Evaluation.
Representing the Nordic region is Swedish pastry chef Frida Bäcke, one of Scandinavia’s most respected names in pastry and chocolate. A multiple recipient of the prestigious “Konditorernas Konditor” award, Bäcke is celebrated for her refined technique and innovative approach. She previously served as Head Pastry Chef at Frantzén and AIRA and was a member of the Swedish Culinary National Team, winning gold at the Culinary World Cup.
Today, Bäcke co-runs Stockholm’s acclaimed pastry shop Socker Sucker alongside renowned baker Bedros Kabranian. Their creations are known for combining technical precision with playful creativity and indulgence.
“I am truly honoured to be part of the World Chocolate Masters jury this year,” says Bäcke. “I look forward to seeing how the finalists interpret the theme ‘Play & Taste’ and push the boundaries of what chocolate can be — both in flavour and expression.”
Organised every three years by Callebaut, the World Chocolate Masters serves as a global platform for innovation, craftsmanship and excellence in chocolate, bringing together some of the industry’s most influential talents.
