In 2001, Wolfgang Reitzle acquired this estate amidst the rolling hills of Lucca and founded the Villa Santo Stefano winery with great passion and a spirit of innovation, with the support of renowned oenologists. With uncompromising quality standards and a deep connection to the Tuscan culture and wine region, the organically certified boutique winery now owns vineyards on various terroirs - not only around Lucca, but also near the coast of the southern Maremma. One of the special wines is the red wine Loto, a super Tuscan with great character and depth.

Wolfgang Reitzle acquired the Villa Santo Stefano winery near Lucca in 2001 together with his wife Nina Ruge. The idyllically situated estate belonged to the Bertolli family with a long tradition of producing olive oil and some wine. With the support of renowned oenologists, the engineer turned the estate into a technologically unique boutique winery. Today, around 60,000 bottles of organic wine and organic DOP olive oil are produced here every year on an area of 6.5 hectares in Lucca and 11 hectares in the Maremma.
